Wooden birthing pools are solid and strong so you can safely use the sides
to assist in pushing, yet they’re softly padded all around and very cosy.
Wooden birthing pools are very simple to erect and spacious enough at 1½ metres square to easily fit 3 to 4 people,
should you wish your family to join you in your labour and birth journey.
Wooden birthing pools are deep enough at 60cm to completely submerge your whole body for complete weightlessness
and hold around 1000 litres at 70% full.
The lining for the pool is a durable PVC In a lovely calming blue colour, which is sterilised by us to hospital grade standards.
Our wooden birthing pools are set up with a built in internal seat, giving you the options of different depths during labour.
The seat is big enough to have your birthing partner sit with you for support should you wish, and can be used
to sit or lean on during labour or to feed your new arrival.
The heating elements effectively heat the water from cold to 37° in around 4½ hours. This eliminates a lot of unnecessary
time and energy being spent adjusting the temperature by draining out cold water to add more hot, therefore saving water.
I recommend filing the pool with hot water if you need to save time, should your labour be progressing quickly.
You can increase the temperature with both elements turned on and maintain the existing temperature by using
one element.
They also serve as a useful shelf in the corner of your pool..
The hire agreement is for a two week rental period.

The Heated Wooden Birth Pool Kit comes equipped with:
- Your fully padded out, wooden birth pool with all necessary accessories for assembly.
- A sanitized, durable, blue PVC liner
- A clean fill hose with adjustable nozzle attached.
- A water powered drainage system that siphons 600 litres in 10 minutes.
- A heating unit, that safety and effectively heats the water from cold to 37 in approximately 3.5 - 4 hours

Other requirements when using a Birth Afloat birthing pool, to make your birth journey
more efficient and comfortable:
- Some old towels - to catch drips on the floor around the pool.
- A bucket to collect any solid matter.
- A specific tap connection to your hot water tap for a fast fill if necessary..
- A waterproof torch to monitor your progression.
- A mirror to view your progression.
- Bendable straws to make drinking comfortable, whatever position you’re in.
- 2 extension leads for the heat elements if necessary.
